Liberty is different than Leave.  Leave is similiar to requesting time off for vacation at work, they must submit a chit and have it approved.  Liberty basically means that they have "liberty" to…Continue

Thanks for the update. No letter this week yet. Since mine isn't younger (21) I would assume he wasn't one making his bed 40 times. He actually made his bed here at home with military corners before he left. That was the first time in 10 years that the bed had 2 sheets on it. Then I opened his drawer to put some clean clothes away and the tee-shirts were all folded military style. He had found a video on youtube, I thought he meant just for the bed! I had to re-fold all the shirts I was adding to the drawer. Couldn't mess up all that neatness!!

Im hoping he gets mail this sunday, he indicated in his last letter he hadn't recieved anything yet.

Just a chuckle, he signed off his letter to his brother, as gotta go, have to shine my shoes, again. LOL. I looked at his room yesterday, and I haven't touched it since he left and I can only image what he is going through. I don't think he made his bed, ever, unless company was coming and then, he would just shut the door.

Whew, so glad that I am not the only one! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing. This is tough, not as tough as it is for them...........but I can't tell you how much hearing from others helps. As far as letters, I try and write everyday. I tried handwriting, but in this computer age, I found that my handwriting is horrible! I did send a few short letterrs handwritten, as he has to handwrite me and let me tell you, that is a chore to read his handwriting. I do send him his favorite comic strips, sounds silly, but thought he may need the comic relief. It is so nice to know that others are going through the same thing.

I think it is funny about the "pockets". I suppose it is a hard habit to break.
40 times seems a bit extreme. I suppose they KNOW how to make it properly now.
Wishing your son the best as well..and all the SR's.
