Stasi--not only a possible great job, but what a way to finish out his bachelor's degree! We were thrilled when he entered Ranken Technical College--he was afraid we would be upset about not going to a 4 year college--but he is talented with machining. Started carrying around a hammer at the age of 3. So, this is really his niche. But now he wants an engineering degree and what a place to get it with the extra experience!

Stasi--so true! Andy is lazing right now with Indoc. I keep on telling him that his studies may consume about 14 hours a day. He doesn't think so, but precious experience from other moms tells me, Yah.
He must have a pretty good room mate right now, although he complains that the other two who share a shower in the middle did not pass surprise inspection.
He asked for Subway gift cards, but really likes the food at Goose Creek. (BTW, Goose Creek is minutes from Charleston,SC, our favorite city to visit. Guess what we have planned for Columbus Day off from our schools?!)
Andy is in the nuclear engineering program, has volunteered for submarine duty, and could be going to Connecticut after Goose Creek for 3 months to finish his welding certification for emergency sub repairs.
Sounds like we have scattered our sailors all across the country. Thank God for cell phones--but again, I miss those letters.

who else had sailors who went to Goose Creek from this PIR?

Yeh---Andy arrived at Goose Creek. It will be a while before next set of classes, but he's in a great weather area. Looking forward to hearing from him more often.

Just want to wish all safe travels. We are soooo close. And, to remember those who can't come to PIR--we have told our son to see who needs someone to "adopt" them for the weekend so they have family time.

Hi--has anyone had a call that their sailor has had battle stations? Or when they are scheduled?

Our son told us where they would be "parked" and that their ship could be last? How do they keep us in our seats once we see our loved ones?
