Happy Mother's Day to my Bootcamp Mom's. It's good to see you all here, yes it's hard to believe at this time last year we all were preparing for our sailors to go. Wow. Now look at them, so proud.
Texas Mom, one of Jennifer's friends from high school is a Rescue swimmer. They graduated in 2008. When she was in A School in FL she was at the Walmart and ran into him there. She saw a group of guys walk by, turned around and said Josha? They could believe it. When she told me, it blessed my heart.
Doesn't it feel good that we now can help new mom's? On one of my other site's, I've been able to support some new mom's and it feels great.
It's good to hear from you all, keeping you and your sailors in my prayers.

Susan, it might be the same training. We'll never know because no one outside is given any information. It's like Battlestations where they cannot talk about it. All I know is it's not pretty.

It's nice to hear from everyone and, yes, I wish everyone a very Happy Mother's Day!

It's nice to hear how everyone is doing. And it is difficult to believe almost one year ago, he was home and getting ready to leave........

He's in A school for Rescue Swimmer in Pensacola. There was a 3 month waiting period where he spent his days working out and going to the beach. Awwww, too bad! We kept teasing him that he wasn’t in the Navy, he was at a resort.

Then he started "C" school for air crew candidacy school. Then that was followed by rescue swimmer school. He's now in "A" school which is for his specific jobs that he will be assigned while in the helicopter. Rescue swimmers have additional job responsibilities on top of being called to action as a rescue swimmer. After that, he goes to San Diego for FRAC school which is fleet replacement air crew and I yet don't have a clue what training is in that school.

And either before or after FRAC, he has to go to SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape). They are dropped in the middle of a desert and situations are recreated to aid and educate them to evade the enemy, or survive capture. It's VERY INTENSE. Very hush hush. SERE is 2 weeks long, with one week of no contact with the outside world. They come back dirty, with beards, and have lost weight. I really don't look forward to that at all. From there, they will be sent to the fleet. Phew. That was a lot of stuff, huh?

Hello ladies, who helped me get thru Bootcamp. Susan, BarbaraJoe, MommaBeck, Alicia, Gwyn just wanted to stop by and say "hi" and see if anyone had visit this site. I was thinking of what we have been thru the last 8 months and soon it will be a year that our Sailors went into the Navy. We have been thru a lot.

My daughter is on her 1st Deployment and it's still hard. I miss her so much, she's stationed on the USS Ike. I'm very thankful that we do get e-mails and she's able to call sometimes. She called last night and sounded so tired. They had their 1st shore leave 2 weekends ago, she called and said,"I'm on land".
Can't wait for Homecoming, it will be in Norfork, VA and yes I will be there.

((((Navy Hugs to my first N4M's family)))). Take care and a have a good weekend.

Congratulations Gwyn! Yes, I'd like to know if she is also in the military? Alicia, how all is well....thinking about you and D.

J starts A school on Monday! Graduated aircrew school. Graduated rescue swimmer school and now starts A school. Seems backwards doesn't it?

Susan, what a beautiful daughter you have! Does she model.....she ought to and your son-in-law (soon) isn't too happy is he? They make a wonderful couple!

Thank you for the kind words on my son. Their school is in Pensacola and it's so backed up. They are on the beach (next to it?) and we've been teasing him telling him that we were beginning to think he was at a resort. With two PT's per day, he kept telling us he was NOT but it was fun to mess with him. He came home for 2 weeks at Christmas and it was soooo nice to have time with him.

Alicia, yay! I will tell him that when he get's there he needs to look up Rosey (love it - is it cuz of his cheeks?). I told J about Rosey's great accomplishment in saving that young man and J was very very impressed and in all seriousness said that if he "enjoyed" the save that D needs to transfer to rescue swimmer because he has whats needed and that his "head is in the right place." That's a phrase that J uses frequently. Your head has to be in the right place which if it's on the top of my neck then I know that I'M okay......hahaha, sorry......it's a mental thing obviously. And also thank you for telling me you have family there - what a kind offer! He should be there this summer if RSS (rescue swimmer school) starts on time.

I love reading this group to see where our kids are at which MN-Nicks Mom, I need to send you an email to see where your son is in RSS - he classed up before J, I believe. Later guys!

Well, good news! My son graduated Aircrew Candidacy School yesterday. Today he moved across the road to Aircrew Rescue Swimmer School! After he finishes this, he then goes to San Diego for more school.

Jfree, sending good thoughts your way!
