Lowes has a red, white, blue night light, click for different colors. Mine will stay blue, and I can even leave it on while we are gone :)

Oh, and it was my pleasure. Thanks. I knew I had seen it somewhere, just could remember where. This sight is so big with all the groups, discussions, one can easily forget where we have been but with that said, this website has been the ABOSLUTE BEST and our LIFELINE through these last several weeks. A huge thanks to everyone who has posted, supported and given us all information, a helping hand and yes, a shoulder to cry on. I could not have made it through this time without this site and ALL OF YOU!!! A big shout out to NAVY4MOMS and HUGS to all. A lot of you have been "paying it forward" already and I hope to do the same. And that is what makes this site so great..navy moms from all stages of the making of a sailor to beyond!. Can't wait until next week!

I love it....a great tribute. I would actually like to keep one going year round. I wonder if they have electric battery operated blue candles that I could place in Chris' window which would show from the front of the house. Years ago, when we first travelling from Florida through MD to the Lewes/Delaware Ferry on the way to our annual family reunion to Ocean City, NJ, we were very taken by all the houses along the rural roadways that would have candles in their windows at night. It was such a beautiful and comforting sight. They must do it year round as that was in July. That very first Christmas, we went out and got the 3-candle sets and put them in all our front windows (2 story house) and I just love it. Sooo, I could do the real candle for the holidays and use the battery/electric one to place in the one front window. I will have to check that out. It would be a way of honoring them all and our son.

Thanks Jill. I ran out and got my Blue Star as soon as I got that Info. Now I'll have to stop at the store on my way home from work and get a few Blue candles :)

Regarding the blue candle lighting, I copied this from a site: Welcome to all Moms and we invite you to join us throughout the future Year to light a blue candle in honor of our sailors, past, present and future to honor the service and sacrifice they each give by being away from their families...We honor the Military for the sacrifice they make 24/7/365. Light a blue candle on Holidays, Birthdays, Memorials and celebrate the lives of our Navy and Military that keeps our hearts and lives free. In your own home, or wherever you are at. LET YOUR BLUE CANDLE SHINE. You can rsvp that you will STATE YOUR CITY AND STATE, then comment on Birthdays, honor to someone throughout the year.... Keep the Blue Candle Burning. visit the group too of Home for A Holiday/by the BLUE CANDLE MOMS. This was from Candle Lighting Event

I also read somewhere that the blue candle is signifies navy/miliary person is away serving and that you are keeping them in your prayers....I think. Will have to defer to one of the other moms for confirmation or accuracy. But it is something along that line. I think there is a group for it.

My friend down here received her phone call after battlestations last month around 3:00ish in the afternoon because they have things to do after, their hat exchange cermony, shower, eating, etc. But that was on a Tuesday afternoon for a Friday PIR. Think they will let them call right away due to the short notice....as if anyone is going to be at home before they fly out! Most will be in transit, I'm sure. :)

What time are we looking for a call after battle stations?
