Hi All anyone else Loved one from this class. Our son has sent home many letters and we  and our extended family & friends have responded in turn. Our Son went with a small group from NY he Made a friend here before they shipped out They are both  going for MA. In fact the Friend is the MA while our son is the Division Yoeman, why he would take on additional stuff is beyond me but I guess RCT has a way of taping  into your inner self. I also can say that the have earned their fourth Flag and as of now it should be the fourth day of week number five or as they might have written 5-4 DOT.  I have been looking on this site and it seems that flying into O hare is simpler than Midway. I also was able to get a rental from Hotwire .com for 13.95 for a full size car. PU/drop back at Airport. unlimited mileage. I also understand that the taxes on the rental are like 20% so be ready for the hit. I was unable to get a cheap good hotel thru Hotwire for the area but did as others and searched North Chicago hotels web site and then used my AAA discount to get a nice discount rate at the Residence Inn up on South Oak Drive about 3 miles from the base in Waukegan.  Although I also hear that the Navy Lodge is good too. for a few dollars more.

Just finished the second letter pretty funny stuff, My sailor notes he lost about ten pounds of bulk to muscle, and he just earned his first medal in his naval career as did two others. He also said the base got hammered by the snow and that there's a case of conjunctivitis amongst the recruits. In your next letter be sure to ask if your sailor is suffering from Beretta Bites!
Also hes asked for a set of dog tag silencers as the tags get tangled up in the chest hair and pull on it makes things uncomfortable and the tags are noisy as well
Ok read his letter last night as per ship 7 Div. 104 Yoeman - "WE HAVE EARNED ALL OF THE FLAGS AND ARE NOW THE SENIOR DIVISION" Whoooraaaa to the ladies and gentlemen of PIR 2/26/2010
Way to go ship 7, division 104!
Ok got another letter today dated 2/16, Our sailor and four others got promoted in Rank to E3. In addition he says that his Div. (104), is out ahead of the others and is particularly kicking the crap out of their sister Div. 103 akin to an Army v. Navy Game. He also notes that P.I.R. should be about an hour as there are only 7 Divisions out of 15 that are graduating.Further that the weather dictates northeast apparel should be procured
Yes, Go ship 7 div 104... I can't wait to see my son...
ship 7 div 104 is done with battlestations per the PAO office. We should get calls this afternoon.. Good luck to all...
THANK YOU CLARISSA FOR CALLING PAO AND GETTING THE INFORMATION FOR US! WE HAVE BEEN NERVOUS WRECKS!
OMG me too... And just a heads up the PAO did tell me that if your recruit didn't pass he more than likely would have had to call right away.. So it's almost safe to say we have sailors.....Yeah!!!! I am sooo excited I can't stand myself...LOL
