~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option.

~It is also a good idea to change your visibility settings for your Profile Page (MY PAGE) to "Just my friends".

Also, my SR is in Div 193, Ship 12. Thanks!

Forgive me if this is a basic question. I'm new to this and trying to learn the rules. Is there any way to post an OPSEC compliant message on fb when we get the I'm a sailor call? I'm ok if the answer is no.
Comment by jillymama on June 16, 2017 at 12:21pm
From what someone posted a while back, BS should have started last night. Has anyone received "I'm a sailor" call yet? Does anyone know what time of day for the call?
I'm so nervous for this last part and want it to be done.

@Brynne21 Lol! That is too funny. My son lost weight, but I am used to it. During winter he picks up weight and during summer he loses it. He had to go to a training class for his run so, he exercised A LOT! Lol! He said, lots of running and lots of push-ups. Also, he said during the first two weeks he was not a model recruit and was IT'd a lot...Lol! He was threatened with being Asmo'd and turned himself around, Lol! Are you going to the meet n greet?

Comment by brynne21 on June 16, 2017 at 10:23am

@My Little Bird, yes we have planned some places to go after PIR.  He has gained 20lbs so I have NO idea what he will look like as I can't imagine what he looks like with a little weight on him.  You're going to laugh but I went and had an eye exam last week so I could be sure to see him at PIR.  haha

Comment by M'smom on June 16, 2017 at 9:43am
Well, this time next week will be our turn! I so can't wait to see my son again!!!
Comment by My Little Bird on June 16, 2017 at 9:07am

@brynne21 my son is in div 200 as well. The last  letter he wrote was dated June 4th,  but I did speak to him last week and he made me give him the stats for the NBA Finals. I heard a lot of recruits talking in the background and they were all trying to find out who was ahead. You are right, he did sound different. I told him this and he said, he did not know what I was talking about, Lol. He wants to go to Home Run Inn Pizza after PIR. He still loves pizza...good to know that hasn't changed. We also wants to visit his family and wants his cell phone.Thankfully, his A school is two hours away from where I live so, I will be able to see him before he gets his orders. I can't wait for PIR...I have watched every Youtube video available about bc. Glad its over and he can move on to his next leg.
