Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option.
~It is also a good idea to change your visibility settings for your Profile Page (MY PAGE) to "Just my friends".

k2m5s6 I heard from my son today. He is making friends and says there are a lot of good guys in the division. 24 of them are Nukes. Is your son Nuke?
Got a call today too!! Div 196 and finally got the form letter and mail on Thursday 5/18 after waiting 22 days. My SR said they were not allowed to mail things out until last Sun. When we answered she cried and cried, how tough it has been. She can't wait to get letters and seemed to perk up to find out she should get some next week, although mail is not always distributed as received. Div 196 is integrated but not working alongside 195, and the Division pretty much has to stay together all the time. When I got off the phone with her, I had the longest cry in who knows how long. It is the absolute worst feeling to not comfort my baby with a hug. :( But, I hope the encouragement we gave her to stay strong and finish the race helps. BTW, the # comes from an 844 area code so answer everything. :) It helped a lot to hear her voice.
kimberlya: This is the 6/23 PIR group so everyone here should have that PIR date...except us N4Moms veterans on here to help. So get to know each other on here!
sspaws: It is very possible that he has received lots of mail since last Sunday. If your SR has been gone 3 weeks by now, then it is very possible their mail startup was Monday. If so, they receive mail M-F now but can only mail out on Mondays (collected on Sundays).
