~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option.
~It is also a good idea to change your visibility settings for your Profile Page (MY PAGE) to "Just my friends".

Have been worried, but FINALLY got the "letter" after three weeks! Son in Ship 03, Div 195. Hopefully will get a call on the 20th... Looking forward to connecting with other newbies!!
Stay strong Mommas!
SDmamabear,
I'm so happy you know your daughter's address now!! Our SR's are in the same division and ship. So it is integrated! (:
Hi Everyone,
I think this is where someone was asking about car rentals. I fly into MDW and I got a rental from Wednesday night until Monday morning for less than 180. It was through Dollar. I'm not sure what sized vehicle it is, but it was the cheapest offer so far. I believe they decide upon arrival.
I heard from my SR today! My first set of personal letters. I cried, like a baby. He seems to be doing really well. He says the hardest part is waking up at 0400 every morning. He seems hopeful though. Cannot wait until June 23rd. Almost half way there everyone!
(Ship 03 Div 196)
We received our letter tonight! Ship 14 Div 197. Good to hear that he is doing well. I hope that he starts receiving our letters soon. It sounds like he misses us as much as we miss him. Wonderful to hear from him.
Thank you so much for letting us know when you receive letters and some sweet bits and pieces. It is super encouraging! 4Maineboys- the Lord blessed my husband and I with four boys also :)
Little Bird- I think you may need a Costco card- but I am not postitive-it's worth a try to check.
Ship 14 Div 197 Yay got our first letter!!! I was in tears reading it. Just to hear from him and learn all about what he has been going through. He really misses us and all of his freedom. Says that time goes by fast though as they are kept very busy. Hope you all hear from your SRs soon!!! God bless!
Luckywoo,
My son is also Ship14 Div 197. And my husband is also a Navy vet of 8 1/2 years. I am hoping to get a letter soon too! That seems to be the hardest part - waiting to hear from him.
