~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option.

~It is also a good idea to change your visibility settings for your Profile Page (MY PAGE) to "Just my friends".

We have a SR in Division 194, Ship 12. Just received her first letter today, May 12. Post mark stamp is May 8 and we live in Idaho. We are very happy to say the least. She sounds challenged but upbeat which is awesome.

So............keep a look out for some letters if your SR has time.

Hi Everyone,

I booked my flight through Southwest to Midway because of the 2 free bags, and being able to rebook if needed. It is a bit further than O'hare, but that's okay. It was also cheaper than American or United. I also booked through the Navy Lodge. Lastly, I booked my rental through Dollar at Midway. It was cheaper than Budget actually. I hope this helps whoever is planning their trip (:

My ticket was about 346/pp and the car rental was $175 for 5 days.

Sorry for being repetitive in posts but want to make sure no one misses any info we can provide.

For those who have Southwest Airlines in their area, they charge no change fee and 2 bags check for free.  They fly into Milwaukee and Chicago-Midway.  Milwaukee is a little further but shorter drive in time due to no traffic.  Car rental is usually cheaper too.  If you have to cancel your flights, you can use the ticket for up to a yr...and can change destination....you will just pay any increase in fare.

Anyone finding any good deals on flights? The best I've found is Southwest, however I live in Savannah GA and they don't fly out of here. The closest airport to me they fly out of is Jacksonville FL about 130 miles from me. Also, is there any type of discounts we can get?

I have reserved Budget rental car. There's a coupon code that gave 35% off too! Just google search for the coupon. Got a great deal on full size car!

The FB page for Recruit Training Command is the place to look for photos. They do try and post photos of every division at a certain point.

Please don't request photos from them, they can't do it, and won't do it.
