**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).  Still limited to 2 guests maximum.

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 7/16/2021**

**UPDATE - 2020**

Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

How do I find out when my son's PIR will be?  He shipped out on 3/5/19.  Have not heard from him yet except for a "micro call" telling me he had safely arrived (while drill sergeants were YELLING in the background! lol).  Thanks for any help!

You should get the formal letter in about 9-14 business days and this will have PIR info.  Be sure to join the boot camp group (I posted the link in the Welcome on your page) as you will find answers to most of your questions there.  Once you know the PIR date then you can join that group.  Usually you count 9 Fridays from when they left to get an idea of when PIR might be.  You could be looking at a 5/3/19 PIR but don't make any plans until you get the formal letter.

Thank you for your response!  I didn't know the 9-14 day time frame for receiving that first letter. . .which was really what I was looking for.  Until that arrives, we can only make an educated guess that his PIR will be 5/3 or 5/10.  :)

You are welcome - you might also want to sign up for USPS Informed Delivery.  This will show you what mail you are receiving each day (if it's available in your area).

Awesome!!  I did not know about this service!  I am all signed up now!  :D

Thank you!  It is nice to know what timelines to expect!  I just did sign up for informed delivery with USPS. ..I did not previously know it even existed!  My son was not planning on mailing any belongings home. . .he was just going to donate what he couldn't keep with him.

Side note:  can they receive emails or just "snail mail"?  How do you send USPS mail to them?

USPS is your basic snail mail.  There is also the Sandboxx app like Eve mentioned.

Either way, don't send anything until you receive the formal letter with his address.  Otherwise mail could get lost - they have to train someone to handle the mail and this takes a little time.  And definitely start writing now so when you get that first letter you can ship them all off!

They aren't able to receive emails.

Hi Kimberly - PIR (Pass in Review) is the actual graduation.  Did he give you the PIR date along with the ship/division #?  If not just tell us the division # and we can figure out his PIR from that.
