Hey all..Happy Labor Day...hope it was a good day of rest. Well we just have a few more short weeks til PIR. I'm so excited. I've been printing out maps on mapquest for the meet and greets and to the base, but have to wait a few more days before we can download the parking pass. Division 945 is marching in a Labor Day parade in Zion IL today so my son gets to be off base for 6 hours or so, should be a nice treat for them. Just keep our kids in prayer that from here til PIR things go well and we'll have a wonderful celebration on the 25th. GO NAVY!!! God bless our kids and all our Navy families.

as far as the calls we received one 08/05 when he arrived and at that time he said there would be another call in about 3-4 weeks and then a call came in on 08/25 and he said that was his 3 week call that would make us in week 5 i believe too.

Hey Tina, yes I mailed them this past Monday, Aug 31, and he got them Thursday. So he's set. Glad that I was of help. Are you going to any of the meet and greets before PIR? I can't wait. Got my 1st phone call today, he sounded great! lasted 18 minutes cuz that was all time left on phone card. He was SIQ during their 1st phone op so missed it because confined to bed with flu. We're so close now, pray they stay well and don't lose sight of the goal! Blessings to everyone.

Tina, I sent my son 1 pair of contacts, the case and a small bottle of solution. His PO said they can wear contacts for PIR instead of the birth control glasses. Just mail them in a padded envelope. Hope this helps you. Can't wait to see my son and meet some awesome moms

As my ex and I will have to "share" our son at graduation if anyone knows of anyone who might like to be "adopted" for a few hours please let me know. My supervisor told me when her son graduated Air Force their were a bunch who had no one to "claim" them, it'll rip my heart out because they will be so proud and have worked so hard. I tear up as I write this, I love all these guys and my heart is just bursting with pride for all of them.

I'd like to thank everyone for the posts and for sharing, you make me laugh (we live in the country so i'd have to chase our mailman down with the car), thirsty (love the ritas) and cry (dementia has affected our family too). I am not getting much info from my son so all the information you post helps me not only to know whats going on and be prepared for PIR but emotionally too.

Yes, this is the same comment from my son repetitively. Funny I too told him maybe it'd get better. I suppose its an age thing, everyone is correct at least they'll be in extra super shape :)
