For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Patty, I know, last year for Independence Day we gave our son his truck with a fresh paint, it was his last 4th of July at home. Chrstian is now in San Diego, and the pictures of the 4th from the ship were pretty cool to see. It is hard to believe that a year ago our kids were graduatng high school and preparing to leave for bootcamp. He's hoping to come home in a couple weeks for a visit, can't wait cuz I miss him!

Steven is still in Goose Creek, South Carolina, he started Power School March 25 (on his 24th birthday). It is roughly six months, he will graduate Sept. 3. After that he will have prototype (where they actually work with nuclear reaactors) probably in New York which is another 6 months. He still hangs out with some of the guys from 335 & 334 who are also Nukes.
On a different & happier note, I am flying out to see him over Memorial day as he has a 3 day weekend.

Hey everyone, let's do a role call...where are you sailors now after A school? Christian is in San Diego, serving on the Nimitz. He's OS! God bless y'all, hard to believe that this time a year ago we were getting ready to send our kids off to bootcamp by the end of July, beginning of August. TIme flies doesn't it?

Hello Friends, So glad to hear all the updates of everyone. The sailors already doing duty are very impressive. I'm sure they are all still glad with the decisions made to join the NAVY. Steven graduated A school end of January and is now waiting for power school to start at the end of March. That schooling should be about 6 months and then he'll wait to start prototype where he will actually be working with nuclear reactors. There have been some reactor breakdowns so that school might not start until the end of 2011 or beginning of 2012. Hope everyone is well and my friends in the south are surviving the winter weather.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years! Hope your sailors got to come home for Christmas! Hope they all got what they wanted for orders. Christian got San Deigo, USS Nimitz. We just got him back to Great Lakes today, he'll process out of GL, head to SD, then transport to the ship. Wow, a lot has happened since Sept 25! God blessings to all.

Merry Christmas everyone! Christian is doing fantastic in A school, on Friday he was awarded OS/QM A School Best of the Best Honors! Based on classroom/test, inspections, and interviews! We are so proud of him! He's so ready to get out of Great Lakes though. He doesn't mind the snow and cold but does not like the winds that come off Lake Michigan. Christmas blessings to all! Don't forget to wear your Navy gear on Saturday! GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY!!!!! BOO YAH!!

Got The Keel in the mail today.....nicely done, but why so few pictures of our kids divisions? When my hubby was in the pics from start to finish were of his company. Guess with budget cuts everywhere it's easier to do it the way they do it. Have great weekend y'all. Safe travels for those who are on the road, in the air for Thanksgiving. Hope all our sailors have friends to share a meal and a nice day with. God blessings to y'all.

Hey Hey Navy Moms!! Just wanted to drop by and wish y'all a wonderful Thanksgiving. Christian is doing well in A School in Great Lakes. I think he's going to WI with a classmate for Thanksgiving. He's ready for Christmas break, South Carolina for 5 days then home to CA for 8 days. Now I have a countdown for his homecoming! (reminds me of PIR countdown) Blessings to all, and I hope all our sailors get to spend holiday with family or families that adopt them for holiday. God bless all.

Sharon, You know boys and their "toys". Seems the toys get bigger and more expensive and they grow and become men. What gives? I agree about the insurance, if they were students in college they could still be on our policy, just the insurance industry making more and more. Kind of like flood insurance in same flood zone but because of age in homes older home is more expensive to insure then the newer home. Is the flood going to do more damage to one then the other? I don't think so. Insurance just wants to jack up our boys rates now they have to have their own policy.
