Oh Sue, so much going on you are all in my thoughts and prayers also. I talked with my parents yesterday who had received a letter from my son, it was addressed to Sr. Chief Petty Officer Retired XXXXXX, my dad said it brought back all kinds of memeories of military life. So I guess he must have passed the test on how to address differnet ranks. It was nice because before my son left for boot he got matching US Navy hats for him and his grandpa with their names embroidered on them.

hello, so much to read and catch up on
-Roni I'm sorry your son received that letter, during this time he doesnt need to have that issue on his mind too and if its as you say hopefully he'll see the light (our 21 yr daughter did ask her brother in a letter if there were any single man/boys at boot with him -hehe:)
-Vickie you and I are in the same boat it sounds like regarding mail and info received but we have already commiserated about that before havent we! arg
-Rachelle and Theresa thats interesting about having them train with the Marines, hopefully your sons will have a choice in the matter. I wonder how many recruits have had to change their "career". I'm praying everything will work out.
-Nikki, I'm sure because Ryans unfortunately had so much "idle" time he is thinking every scenario in his mind about everything. He feels bad and stressed not being able to be with his "team" and still having health issues. From everything you've written previous you two have a very solid and good relationship, 8 weeks is a long time for anyone to be apart. It'll all be good.

Got a letter yesterday, 5 pages to it. Ship 06 Div 945 is doing excellent with all their inspections. They represented RTC at Labor Day parade in Zion WI and I know they represented RTC and USN proudly. These kids are so awesome! Can't wait just the 12 days, but keep all our kids, regardless of divisions, in prayer for STA 21...they've worked too hard up to this point. God bless our kids and all our families. Til the 25th...

Barbara, What a wonderful thing your daughter did, she knew you would need a pick me right about now, It has been interesting to read here what all of our soon to be sailors write about and how they write, depending on gender and relationship status. My daughter is always writing those type of notes too, it lets you know you did something right! And I will be able to make some meet & greets now as I have talked my husband into taking the day off so we can come down early on Thursday. woot woot!

Thank you Figs for the moving 9/11 comments.
first: got a one page letter, this kid i swear, he hasnt answered a single question i asked only said if he did well shooting again he'd get a pin to wear on his uniform. everything they've been doing has already been written here so i wont repeat. my birthday is Sunday & he did wish me happy birthday -he said they have no idea of when they will get to make calls.
second: if anyone has any extra tickets i would truly appreciate the donation, we need 3 total but even 1 would be great. (i dont know if my son has been able to secure any extra as he isnt being very informative). thank you
We are still having beautiful weather here in WI so i plan to enjoy the weekend. Hopefully this nice weather will stay until after the 25th! ONLY 2WEEKS LEFT

hi, i think i've seen this question out here fefore but i'm not sure.. because of divorce the graduation tickets allowed is an issue, his 4 allowed he has allocated to his parents & stepparents. his sister and 1 set of grandparents (retired 20yrs navy) would like to go too, i've asked him in letters to ask around if some other recruits may have extra tickets but i havent had mail in 2 weeks and no calls. does anyone know if the people showed up would they get turned away? grandparents live in state of AR. thanks for any advise.

well, no call tonight (and i kept everyone off the phone & compuer) :) not sure if div 335 got to make calls or not, our phone rang at 7:50pm and my husband said the person hung up when he answered so....i was thinking if they had to be back at ship by 8pm it couldve been him, not sure what the distance is from the phones to ship. congrats to people who got calls & mail!

Hey moms & dads...for those of us who have kids that wear contacts...you can ship them now. I sent my son a box of contacts, a small bottle of solution, and the contact case in a small padded envelope and it cost under 2 bucks to mail and Christian received it within 4 days. Can't wait for the meet n greets, look forward to meeting Navy families. Can I ask how you all are finding out dates for tear gas chamber, fire station and BS21? Christian is Ship 06, Div 945, if someone can point me in the right direction I can click my way through it. Have wonderful evening, God bless our kids and all Navy families.

thanks for the comments, i must have misunderstood about what divs were getting calls yesterday, if anyone in div 335 did get a call yesterday please let me know and to this whole group i'm sorry for sounding like a sad sack, i'm a strong person so if i'm getting this frazzled hopefully these 2 1/2 weeks will go by fast.

ok so i was going to ask if anyone got calls today because when we got home from helping our daughter move her furniture there was a hang up on my answering machine at 5:38pm central (even if this had been a normal work day we would have missed the call because we dont get home until after 5pm). i have the feeling this would have been my son and i am crushed as i've missed both his calls..... if they dont get to call again until before graduation i'm getting worried because there is still so many unanswered questions and unfortunately he doesnt seem to be writing. dont they get to call once they are officially a "sailor" or is that the call they make before graduation? i am just numb right now both times we missed his call because we were helping the other child.
