Good Morning everyone. Got an e-mail from my sailor and things are not going well on his first deployment. He didn't get off the ship in their first port, He is stressed working 17+ hours somedays and the DIV is having difficulty with their boss. As you all know this is hard for a mom to hear and not be able to help. As you are praying for our sailors could you add a little extra for him and his DIV. He so looking foward to this deployment. He is on a carrier.
Thanks, hugs and blessings!

Dear Lord
Today when the news came on, it was to mention the need for the State Police to help guard the funeral of Pastor Fred Winters, who was shot and killed at church last Sunday. The protest group from Kansas that often frequents military funerals is showing up tomorrow. They want to hold a protest in front of the very church where he gave his live serving the Lord.
So, please, whatever power it takes, please prevent this group from showing up and being heard. Keep the pastor's funeral sacred as you would have it be.
Amen

From David's mom's blog...
The doctors came out about 20 min ago and David is out of surgery and they are very pleased with the outcome. They said that the heart started on its own without any assistance and it all looked really good. They are very happy with everything that went on during the surgery, there wasn't any complications at all during the surgery.

Praise God for the gift of life... How very precious are our days here on earth. May each of us endeavor to love one another and let our dear ones know how very much we love them!

Heavenly Father please give peace and comfort to the donor family for giving the gift of a heart to David... It is a gift of life for him! Know we are holding them in our thoughts and prayers as they walk the path of grief and loss.
We are holding David and his family and doctors and nursing staff in our prayers today as they perform the heart transplant! May all go well in surgery and this precious gift beat strong and well within David's body. What a miracle to behold!

UPDATED: Shooting at Maryville, Illinois church

MARYVILLE (KMOX News) -- Pastor Fred Winters of First Baptist Church in Maryville, Illinois was killed by a gunman Sunday morning. Several others, including the suspect, were wounded.

Winters, who was in his mid-40s, was shot once in chest. He was airlifted to Anderson Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Eye witnesses tell KMOX that the shooter walked to the front of the church and when the pastor stepped down from the podium to see if he could help the suspect, the gunman opened fire on Pastor Winters. Two parishioners were then injured when they tried to subdue the suspect. They are in local hospitals with non-life-threatening wounds.

The gunman was transported to an area hospital with self-inflicted wounds. He is in serious condition.

A prayer service will be held tonight at 6:00 p.m. at Metro Community Chuch located at 3551 Ridgeview Road in Edwardsville, Illinois.

The church is located in the 7000 block of Rte. 162.

Dear Prayer Partners
Someone must have put in special prayers last night. I finally had my first truly restorative night's sleep since Mom's passage to heaven. Today was a great day, AND, the weather warmed up!
I am so thankful to all of you for watching out for each other. YOU have taken your faith and put it into action. That is a blessing.
Take care. God Bless
Carol
