"This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it" Ps 118:24

Almighty and gracious God, we seek your presence this morning. There is plenty of frightening news around and we are already weak from events before. Yet we know that in your love you are always creating new moments to rejoice, always waiting for us to turn to you and always securing us in your perfect peace.

As thoughts turn to worry, we give them to you and commit this day of your making to joy, in your mercy.

We pray for Japan and celebrate 2 lives found alive in the rubble. We ask for stamina for those who bring help and comfort for those who wait. We ask for an abundance of care and power in the fixing of Fukushima.

We pray for the people and events in Libya and ask your protection on the whole Mediterranean. It is no surprise to you that rulers continue to claim power for themselves and hurt their own people. We pray for all those who seek peace and freedom there and ask that the truth be made clear and the Arab nations share in the doings there.

We pray for the Middle East, where principalities seem to take hold and turn right into wrong and religion into ruin. Shine your light into the darkness and protect those who love you that others may learn of your grace.

We pray for other places we don't know about, even as we pray for ourselves, our sailors, our families. We recognize that we need your love and grace as well, as we learn to trust you daily.

This is your day, give us wisdom to live it as your children, and give us love to share with others, and help us trust our children and all others to you.

Amen.

Dear God

As I prepare my heart for your words, keep my mind focused this morning on you.  Hear our prayers as we lift up all our troops to your care.  Grant me both a caring heart, yet one that allows me to speak before our church as layity speaker this morning as our minds are thinking about Japan, Libya, Afghanistan and other places of worry.

God, you have picked me and each of my sisters here as YOUR people.  How wonderful is that!  We praise your name and seek you in all things.

Amen

I can't add anything more or better in my own words so I will just add my "AMEN" to those prayers here.

God our Stronghold and Shield: Watch over those dear to us serving in this time of war. Go before them to make their path safe, Shelter them by night and by day. Lift them up when they grow weary. Fortify their hearts when they are afraid. Defend them through the storm in the assurance of your presence and mercy, and keep them in the companionship of Jesus, through whom we pray. Amen.

tesla, there isn't one thing I could add.  You have said it all for all of us.

Thank you, Lord for tesla.  Bless her today in Your Own special way.  Father, You are good and everything You do is good.

Amen & Amen.  So be it, Lord.

"Then God said, 'let there be light' and there was light and it was good." Gen 1:1

Creator of the universe, we ask you to bring light and hope and peace to the earth. Bind the powers of chaos and darkness, bind the deep and the dangerous and bring help to the lands. We pray for Japan and Bahrain, Libya and Iran-for allies and despots alike. Your will be done for it is good.

We pray for those who are forward deployed and for the security of heart, mind, body, and soul: marines, air, surface, support, diplomatic and more.

We pray for their families everywhere that communication though slow would be welcomed and heard. We ask you to send mature mentors alongside the young moms and their children to comfort and guide them into good choices.

We pray for these other N4M for Blondie and Cheryl and so many others who are dealing with physical pain as well as worry.

We pray for those in the nuclear industry and those who complete their decisions, as we ask you to cool the fuel.

We do not want to forget those who are suffering, in shelters, bereaved and broken. Bring comfort and help to them today and thank you that our children can be part of such a massive and important effort. We are as proud as we are thankful.

Thank you Lord, for you are good. You alone are God. Amen

Thank you Blondie & NurseNavyMom(Sheila) for your added prayers.  It is such a comfort to know others who don't even personally know me or my family are willing to pray for us.  Thank you God for all those who are here and bless them all.

Thank you Father God for such a beautiful day of sunshine, warm temps and time to relax and enjoy it.  The sound of the birds singing is beautiful music to my hears.  Be with all of our families and friends in their times of need and any time.  Keep our military safe wherever they may be stationed and whatever they may be doing.  In Jesus precious name, Amen.
