Thanks to all for reminding me that a bad day (ok., 6 bad weeks to tell the truth) are not that important, and that our relationship with God remains to be what is important.

Father in Heaven, we thank You for this new day.  We don't know what it will bring to us, but we are so thankful that You know and have it all under Your control.  Help us to be able to rest in this fact.  Lord, please be with our children in and on the waters near Japan.  Keep them safe, Father, and help them to not be afraid.  Remind them that their moms and others who are their "Navy moms" are praying for them, holding them up to You.  Thank You for the beautiful words of the Navy hymn that reminds us of Your almighty power.  Be with us as we go about our day.  In Your Son's precious name, Amen.

Almighty and gracious God we pray...

so much is on our hearts, we come to you and ask for your power

We ask that you still the earth and calm the waves

We ask that you hold the radiation and cool the reactors, the spent fuel, the sensationalism,

Make yourself known to the people around the world who give up self to save others, esp the 50 nuclear workers.

We ask that you give our sons and daughters strength and wisdom. Remind them that they are not alone, that this is just a moment, that you equip and go with them to preserve and protect others.

We ask for your goodness in all people and your tender hand on Japan and those who live, work, visit, and rescue there.

We ask for shalom, for peace and wholeness.

We ask for your divine intervention in Japan, Bahrain, the ME and so many places that need you. Strengthen and use your people in those places.

Lord, we don't know what to ask, but we long for you. We long for those we love and their friends and neighbors and shipmates. So we meet in prayer and call on you...

in your Name we pray. Amen

@Kathy- Thanks for the website. I'm in Calif. & actually AZ is the same time as we are. Since we "sprung" ahead. But as Blondie said God knows even if we pray @ 9 our own time!
You ladies rock.

Kelly--since I have family in EDT, I keep one clock always on that time.  It's my Dad's retirement clock that I keep by a momento he brought me in the 50's when he was in Korea.

Blondie and friends:

"Eternal Father, strong to save,

Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,

Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep

Its own appointed limits keep;

Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,

For those in peril on the sea!

Almighty God who sees us all

we know you hear us when we call

The nuclear plant now needs your care

And the 50 working there

You love all people in Japan

We pray for those in terror on the land.

 Amen"

1st verse is Navy Hymn (“Eternal Father Strong to Save”) this second stanza is my own reponse today…
