My son graduates boot camp July 2nd. Then he goes to QM school right there at Great Lakes. He is getting married after A school and would like his girlfriend to live near by. Do they get much time off during A school?

My son received his verbal orders today. He graduates QM A School this Friday April 11th. he was told that he should receive his hard copy orders sometime between now and next Wednesday April 16th. I am so happy he is going to be stationed in San Diego only 3 hours away from us.

Does anyone currently have a sailor in QM A School? I was wondering if anyone knows when they are suppose to get their orders to their first command? My son will be graduating A school on April 11th and has not heard anything as of yet.
