sbarber~ thanks for the info, sounds like she won't PIR, She was hurt on wendesday, & PIR is 10/14. I have no idea what phase she is in. I called her recruiter and they said she rolled it. So I guess I just pray she can PIR next week. Thanks again

@nsjc04: We really need more information on your daughters specifics before we can give a real good idea but as a general rule RCU has 4 phases if she is on phase 1 she is on cruthches if not she entered on phase 2 as a general rule each phase is 2 weeks long they see the dr every week and receive physical therapy 3 days a week. As far as a PIR thats going to depend on how far along she was in her training if she is in the first 4-5 weeks she will probably go out of RCU back into a Div that is in their training where she left out of her Div, if she is further along she may not go back to a Div and therefore will not have a PIR just do Battle Stations 21 with whom ever is doing it when she is ready and the she will go off to her "A" school. Hopefully this will help you a little bit and please know this is just general information. My son was in RCU for 7 weeks so I have some knowledge but I sure don't know it all. Keep the positive letters flowing to her and best of luck if you have any other ?'s we are all her to try to support you and try to answer them.

My daughter rolled her ankle, so now PIR is on hold, so bummed. I am praying that she is healed in time to make her PIR. I don't know how long they generally wait, before they can retest. She is so strong that I know she can make it.

I have a question for you moms with kids out of RCU. How long were they in THU before getting new orders? Colten said he could be there from 2 days to a few months a8nd with the holidays approaching who knows if they will have a spot for him at Nuke school before the first of the year.

@Kassie73: Sorry to have to welcome you to our family, however this group is wonderful lots of support here. My son injured his knee and was in RCU for 7 weeks he PIR'd the 16th of this month after 4 long months at Great Lakes. Just kow that he is being taken care of and he will do his BS21 when he is healed enough to do so and will be a sailor before you know it. The biggest disappointment is there will be no PIR as he was so far along but you will be just so grateful for him to complete it won't matter. The phone calls will get longer as they make them on the weekends when my son was in there it was every weekend however I have heard its every 2 weeks now but, that is all up to their RDC. Hope he heals soon and is on his way to A school before you know it. Best of luck.

Thanks, he will get there!  He is a strong young man but the most frustrating part is they don't let the kids talk long.  I will check out Ship 6 also and I truly appreciate everyones support and I will be there for you all as well!!

Hey Kassie! I understand your pain! Just know that we are here to support you! This is a hard thing knowing your child is hurt and there is nothing you can do for him. If you ever need to talk we are here .

Hi Kassie. Sorry to hear about your son. I know how you feel. My son has graduated boot camp now and is doing wonderful - and that's what you have to look forward to. It may take longer to get there, but he will get there!!!

Hi everyone, I just received news today that my son here as he has a fracture in his leg as well.  I feel so bad for him, apparently it has been bothering him for some time but was finally addressed.  Poor kid was supposed to do his BS today and missed out on it, sooooo close.  I guess he is going to be down 4 to 6 weeks.
