@WestonsMom on phase 4 they are nearly ready to go back into a unit or do BS21 and move out of RCU they must pass a Medical PFA (physical fitness test) just like the one they have to pass out go to BS21 in a unit, the doctors decide when they take that assesment and they must pass it to get out of RCU then they will do it again with their new unit b4 BS21 so they will be ready physically to move on with their career. My son said they did more PT in RCU than any unit he was in but it did prepare him and he was able to pass them both and his knee has held out so I really believe that they are prepared physically :-) but each phase is 2 weeks long just remember that and only the dr can change it if he pushes the dr he can move faster but only if his body is ready. Hope that helps if you have any other questions please feel free to ask I will do my best to answer or ask my son for you. Traveling today but I will check in as I can. @Donna I hope he gets moved on today as well, I know how hard it is the not knowing and feeling like your hands are tied. That day knowing he had an appt at 8am and not getting that call until like 8:30pm drove me batty :-) but they move to the new ship and do whatever the unit is doing then the RDC let him call finally that night ugh.. just remember he won't be calling every week now so  ask all your ?'s today and check on that PIR list and password when he calls ya'll have a good day.

well thatis a good idea but I have no idea of a date of any kind. Don't even know if he is going to be cleared tomorrow! So it is hard to make any kind of arrangements when there is no date.

Oh and go ahead and give them heads up at work....let them know it could change though.

I've had that problem also. I made reservations at a hotel that will not charge my card until I check in and no fees if I have to change dates. Also, same thing with the rental car. I don't want to deal with taking a plane because from what I hear there is a fee if you have to change dates.

Well, hope that helps. I know I was extremely stressed about making plans at the last minute so that's what I had to do finally. FYI...some hotels will even let you take a pet for free in case you'd like to take his pet with you.

I did get word from my mom just now. She went by my house to check the mail for me since I'm at work. She said we hit the jackpot!! Yeah!!
