Dear Moms,

I have begged, pleaded, cajoled, basically done everything I can think of to encourage your participation!

I really do hope that you will join us on Saturday, Dec. 1st, at Harrington Hospital for the packing party.  I hope that you will come out and support the troops.

We've moved our party to make it convenient for you and CT Moms because I had received numerous messages about the "wish" to be involved but it was too far to travel to the northern county of MA.

Frankly, I am disppointed.  I hope you come, but if you don't want to, you don't want to.  I'm not going to post again.

Good luck with your group.  And, I mean that sincerely, but I cannot spend so much time on accommodating a group that doesn't even respond.

Hi good evening Rhode Island Moms - yes I'm bugging you all again in Donnas absence ( or annoyance )
Ok time and venue are all set and now we just need a head count from you all , please contact Donna or myself if you are thinking about coming , are coming , or want to get your donated items to a Mom who is coming .
This is a special adoption for me , probably my last in New England !
I know for sure that our group will be small , but not insignificant . They have some serious items on their wish list too . Yes also all the usual , snacks , beef jerky , nuts , sunflower seeds , toiletries for male and females . But also x box games ,long green sox, headphones ,or ear buds, workout supplements like casein , ON protein , cliff bars . Drink sachets , microwaveable snacks and treats to name a few .

PLEASE seriously think about your son , daughter or husband not having home comforts around them before you decide this packing party is too far for you to attend . Maybe get your donated items to a mom who is coming to join in the fun . Come on Rhode Island lets get chatting on this :)

To all the Rhode Island Moms who haven't responded to the S. New England Regional Packing Party (& you know who you are!) --

The location may be out of our comfort zone & perhaps you don't like to travel, but...

Come on everybody!  This is for the troops.  It'll be the first packing party in December for the month's adoptees.  Let's show what hearty, patriotic moms we are and make this one the best ever.

And, RI Moms this party was planned with YOU in mind.  We want to give everyone the chance to get involved.  So here is your chance.  This was the most centrally located, FREE place we could find to have the party.  Now 'the ball is in your court'!  Won't you consider joining in on the fun?

The response from RI Navy Moms has been - how shall I put this? - pitiful!!  We can do a whole lot better.  There is always carpooling, so we can split the cost of gas.  Come On Everyone, let's get going here.

We are one of the headlines in the Molly's Adopt A Sailor newsletter - "Even Sandy can't stop these hearty Moms..."  So let's show them what New Englanders are truly made of!!  <3

I went to the Christmas Tree Shop last night and told them about our packing party.  They gave me a stack of friends and family coupons for Navy Moms to use.  It is 20% of EACH item you purchase.

If you have a Christmas Tree shop near you and want some coupons, let me know!  I bought something for 99 cents and got 20% off that too!!!

NO takers on the packing party??

Please reconsider and come.  We are determined to have this party.  It is not going to be cancelled.  So won't you come and make it a success?

Thanks RI Moms!

Hi Everyone!  I hope you are all safe after the storm and have your power on, if not hopefully soon.

A few of the Navy Moms have been talking about having a combined packing party for RI, CT and MA Navy Moms.  Well, it is going to happen!  Finally.

I've started a discussion above so we can all chat about what is happening, how things will work, etc., etc.  Please take a look at the discussion and consider joining us.  Feel free to bring along a family member or friend if you'd like.  The more the merrier.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to read the discussion and see how you would like to participate.

Massachusetts Navy Moms are having a packing party in Groton, MA on Saturday, Aug. 18th beginning at 1pm.  If anyone is interested, perhaps we can carpool from Plainville, MA??  Would love to meet some of you - maybe if you live in northern RI it might be a possibility.  We are adopting the junior sailors on the USS Iwo Jima somewhere in the Med.

Here is the link and code to the video that Marcy (August's Mom of the Month) made to show us the goings on on the Iwo Jima.  I hope you enjoy it!  (Try the link first, or you can copy and paste the embeded code.  Hoping it works...)

Hugs to you all.

Back on-line - finally!  Knee replacement surgery went well.  Had a bit of a set-back in rehab where I developed an infection.  I think I'm going slowly in the recovery and PT areas, but the therapists think I'm doing well, so I'll go by their assessments!!  PT is difficult, hard work but so far I am managing.  By goal is to be walking (naturally, by myself) for when my son returns which is soon!!!!  {Insert happy dance here!}  So depending on when you all plan to get together I will try to be there.  All depends on his return date which we don't have yet.

Go glad to be back with you all.  Feels like I've been gone forever :)

That sounds great to me.  Are hubbies invited, or a friend??  I'm having my knee replaced on 4/9 (the day after Easter).  I see the surgeon 2 weeks later but I don't know if he will allow me to drive or not ... so I might need someone to drive me.  I live so close to RI, I'd love to get the chance to meet some of you IRL.  Keep me informed, ok?

I've already given instructions to my husband and son that they have to check my emails and my groups on N4M.  You should have seen their eyes rolling!!!  LOL  I think my son is going to opt out by bringing me his laptop to check my own stuff!  That works too.  After all, I can't be without my Navy Moms - what are they thinking?  bawhahaha

Can I come too??
