HELP....trying to find out if anyone has sent regular letters or cards to their Sailor.  I've sent a bunch of boxes with no issues, but since his 21st birthday is coming real soon, several people want to mail him a card.  Anyone know if you have to do anything special?  or the cost??  Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi bobbi, letters are mailed with regular US postage stamp. It takes about 10 days. My son is a seabee and his battalion has been in Rota on deployment. If he will still be there on his birthday then everyone should send mail. If he returns home then mail should be forwarded back to homeport. If your son is a seabee then there is a great seabee moms facebook page that is more active then this group.

Thanks for the information Julie! My s

Hi Bobbi!  My son has been in Rota since last November, his 20th birthday is coming up!!  The same postage can be used to send a card to him as if he were stationed somewhere here in the states.  I'm not sure if it's because it is an FPO AE address or if that applies sending anything to anyone over there.  He is the first person I have ever had to send mail to overseas.  God bless you and your son!!

Thanks NavyMom2014!  My son has been there since September of last year.  I knew the postage was the same for boxes, or at least the "if it fits, it ships" boxes.  Just had not sent him any letters or cards.  I didn't want the family or friends to have any issues sending him cards.
