My son said the same as ViperGirl, there was a lot of waiting for things. He said Marine week was the most exciting for sure! He came out of CORTRAMID thinking he wants to do sub. Bottom line is that the mids get a view of each community so they can see which area they would like to try for (knowing in the end, though, it is the Navy's decision!)

My son called 3 times during the 4 weeks. They do have free time, and he got the impression prior to going that you spent a lot of time in your room and he was going to take an on line course, but he said his group was unusually social and they went to beaches, a baseball game, other midshipmen's home's nearby and Seaworld! During calls he told me some stuff, but I heard more details when he came home. What an experience!

I think you are right RoTcMoM if I get any info I will share it - can you do the same?

My Midshipman left for CORTRAMID at 4 am today, July 11.   He texted to tell us that he landed safely in Norfolk.  Do they usually get a chance to call once they have reported?

Oh duh, that's the Citadel? Are their uniforms the same as the Military Academy?

SusanW - great of you to stop in on them. I bet they really are interested to follow the kids.

ROTCMOM your DD will have a chance to do and see so many new things. The old posts here have lists of things to bring, a lot of helpful information. Start breaking in her boots today. She'll have so many stories.

I've been away for awhile, why is there a picture of a West Point graduation? They do look happy don't they?
