That is so true, this is such a roller coaster ride.  I have kinda of figured out through the reading and reasearch this isn't a done deal until after the Freshman year and he makes grades.  Am I interpreting this correctly?

Like I SAID, the school will know first...as the scholarship money is released as soon as the medical is cleared......

Well, everybody's situation is DIFFERENT. DODMERB said they would not release any info it's not their job to do that...Pensacola is the HQ and we were told by them officially by phone and letter.
What's important is that Dyanne, your son is good to go.....you are in for a year!!! good luck to him!

I just talked to his recruter at the college and he sent me a flyer to attend the BQ and the swearing in cermony for the class of 2015.  He told me Bryan is good to go.  Thanks so much for everyone's comments they are greatly appreciated.  This has been such a rollercoaster ride.  And now that he finally has the scholarship my stomach hurts for other reasons.  ;-)   oh my .....

Dyanne, I will send you an email  too long to send on this forum....

I emailed his recruiter and he said "he is good to go"  does that mean the recruter knows he is in?   He also emailed me a copy of Bryan's Medical Waiver.  If he is in what should I expect?  Is there a swearing in ceremony at the college?  I don't think Bryan has officially signed anything yet to join the Navy.

Dyanne, waivers happen in different sections. Once approved, the paperwork (waiver) gets sent to the appropriate dept. It all falls into place and SHOULD be transparent to you. WE had to get involved as time was really running out. Pensacola is the approving authority and they release the approval for the ROTC scholarship to be approved. The university has very little to do w/this until they get the green light that the scholarship is approved, then they may notify you, It all depends on if you are talking to the POC of that school for ROTC. Many people find out different ways about the approval, but it all comes full circle through Pensacola...confused yet? don't be. Hopefully, it falls into place, but we did have to make phone calls to ask Pen when the medical clearance would be released so the scholarship could be granted. Stay on top of it, don't know when your freshman starts school, but alot of times, they have to start school w/out scholarship funding because the school starts before approval has been granted. My son found out about his scholarship the day school started. He goes back in two weeks and I'm glad the drama is over...after the first year, if the grades are kept up to standard and they don't fail mandatory requirements, it's all transparent...unless there is a problem....good luck.
