ArmyNavy mom....Thanks for good words.....my daughter is getting sick of me always asking what she is doing so she will probably enjoy the break from me!  She loves the people she has met and wishes they were in her unit.....I love FB!  I get to see her pics and others!!

My son said Marine week was no big deal, the good thing was they kept them busy and the time went by very fast. Def no comms with them, but he probably needed a break from me trying to find out what he was doing. He's made so many new friends from different places....his FB friends went up about 20 some friends. Great they are all having a great time and I am getting some awesome pics of kids who are kind enough to share photos of them all on FB. He has subs and aviation next...too easy for him.

My daughter has Marine week next week and I am nervous for her.  She has loved subs and aviation.  I am also nervous for me because I am use to daily texts....haha.  So far everyone has said they loved Marine week so I hope it goes good!!

My son just finished Marine week and he loved it. He was lucky enough to get chosen to attend the Ceremony to Commemorate 69th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway at the USS Midway museum--lucky that he had his summer whites with him. He said it was awesome, that he'll probably never see so many Admirals and Generals in one place again.

I spoke with my son yesterday. He had just finished up sub week, and said so far it's been pretty awesome. He got to be the 'dive officer', which was pretty fun for him.  He is looking forward to next week, which is aviation.  The advice he was given is that you don't want to challenge the pilot to 'make you sick'.  Ha Ha..

Hey CherylwithaC
Great to hear from you! Regarding orders same here, nothing until four days before departure. Guess with number of kids going all over everywhere (CORTRAMID, cruises and Marine training) their unit's admin person is hopping.

Wonderful to hear the exchange has such a quick turnaround on qlasses. Our other daughter now carries her old ones w her when she is traveling long distances. That and duct tape. Gotta love that stuff.
