For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Son not selected for NROTC scholarship

Our youngest son, Mark wasn't selected to receive the Navy ROTC Scholarship. He applied to 5 colleges and so far has received letters of acceptance to 3 so far. No clue as to why. We really thought he was going to get it. He applied in August 2015…Continue

I know my son's flight arrived in San Diego, but I haven't heard from him. He's so psyched for this, I know his mind is not on home. I hope he remembers to call at some point.

Mine is gone also....She has friends going but their flights were cancelled due to damage to airplanes caused by recent storms :( Now most of them won't arrive until Saturday and she is wondering if that will mess with the schedules?? Anyone out there heard anything about this? Good luck to all!

Thank you Sarah for going to help. From what we hear they are putting themselves in harms way daily there, not only with the debris but the seemingly never ending storms. They are utilizing discipline and teamwork in dire circumstances. I'm very proud of the kids helping out, all branches. Safe travels.

The unit's resp for maintaing comms, and like my son's unit, if one hears it, he calls everybody else, so until we hear something from THE UNIT, it's just as the welcome letter states, civies

Yes, my son was also told it was civilian unless notified and he HAS been notified of a change. He was told it changed to summer whites.

My son said they changed the order about traveling in civilian clothes and they are to travel in summer whites. And no khakis.
