That is exactly why there are different arrival days for the Cortramid West. THe cadre has to worry about transportation from airport, billeting, accountability. Can you imagine thmy all coming in at the same time? their resources would be spent before it started.

Your daughter will be so busy and meeting the other mids from all over the country, great to compare how schools and units handle things. I don't know for sure why the different days, expect it has something to do with numbers of mids and how many flights they have to take to get there, delays. I second the bring a camera (charger).

My mid is headed off to join a ship way far away. We have to drive 4 hrs each
way to bigger airport to make her connections. It reminds me that they are not just college kids.

Heart goes out to Joplin, feel so helpless.

NavyMomBarb - I will strongly encourage him to take a camera.      He doesn't always listen to me :)  I know he'll probably be sorry.

June4th - I think for the CORTRAMID West group they are all arriving on Thursday.

My daughters getting ready and her and I are very nervous!  I have been reading all the posts and they make me feel better......does anyone know why they go out on different days??

We are doing all the packing as well.

How neat that our sons and daughters from all over the country will meet each other. I think there are about 5 from our school going West.  I suppose they will split them up?

My son has decided not to bring his camera.  I am hoping we'll get occasional updates.  I assume they let them do that?

What a great experience for them all!

My son won't be home until tonight (Sunday) and he leaves for CORTRAMID West 6 am Thursday! He finished school in Rochester, NY on Wednesday, but had to wait for his twin brother in Ohio to drive home together today. He has to unpack and repack--and we still have to sew name tags on uniforms..... And the entire family will be home for only one day, Monday, as my daughter who has been home since she graduated from college in Minnesota last week, will be leaving Tuesday morning.

:-D  Our mids are home!!   They got home yesterday.  Won't have much time w/ them both here, but looking forward to it.  One leaves the 31st for her "cruise" in a Navy Medical Center, the other will be leaving in July for his CORTRAMID out east.  Exciting summer for both of them.

Congrats to all the mids out there that have graduated & have been/will be commissioned.  Great job!!

Two summers ago my brother who is a Marine was stationed at SD. When ever I called to see how he was doing he said "I'm baby sitting midshipman, how do you think i'm doing?" hahah. Best of luck to all your children who are packing for a wild adventure this summer!
