I was also told the 2C cruise is what the mid makes of it...when I first came on this site, I was wondering about the summer cruises and posted out if anybody could explain what they did..I had no clue...well, I had quite a few responses....most from the enlisted side of the house....most said the success of this particular cruise was the mids themselves....apparantly, some mids have that 'officer' attitude that I know too well....the enlisted don't take kindly to that attitude. But..if they show genuine interest in what the enlisted guys do, they will have a great time and get a feeling for the other side which I belive makes for a great officer. The enlisted girls had some crazy stories to tell of what some mids had done....lots of naughtiness going on...but we all know there's always a bad apple in the group. I have worked with cadets myself, and I can say, it is all about the attitude...so there you have it.....this cruise sounds like they really learn the true ins and outs of the Navy, as the enlisted never sugar coat anything...good luck to the mids on their 2C cruises....post after stories so we know what to look forward to the next year.

Remember that they are serious about behavior issues. Some kids get into trouble every year it seems, are sent home, booted. No drinking, different from their schools.

We still hear about the incredible things they get to do during the month! My
dd took the controls of a nuclear sub, shot a big gun and flew! Bring lots of blister stuff, break in boots now.

My son received an email welcome letter from the CORTRAMID West Staff, and I believe the 14 page information booklet was an attachment.

thanks helenp, i know you are right.  My kids haven't had extended family come to things either, but this is BIG to her & i was hoping, for her sake.

8 hours later & i'm over it... i just needed to share so i could get over it lol

it will be a GREAT day!!  :}

My kids have never had extended family come to special events. They envy friends who have grandparents, etc. present, but we try to make it special. My daughter graduates from college in 2 weeks and only my husband and I will be there as her brothers will be in the middle of final exams. Just don't focus on what's not there and focus on her special day. <3
