I wish we could promise to be home more.  This is my 5 or 6th Christmas gone from my family so its not to bad for me or them. have a I think the DB might rough time and his family because this is his first Holiday season gone (he wasn't always home on Xmas but alway by the 27 or 28). We can't promise that we'll be home more because the DB has to attend classes anytime they are offered for the 2.5 years so he can walk in May '13 graduation. :(   The only reasons were even going home is for my bestfriend wedding and his "sister's" wedding each we'll be in on Thursday out on Sundays :( .  He just can't miss school.  I feel terrible about it. I know when he gets to flight school an were only 12 hrs from home and in the same time zone we'll all see each other more that just seems like a long time away.

Hi ladies! So  I think our parents are pretty sad we're not going home. I'm not sure how to make it any better.   :(    Any Ideas? We already know we'll for sure be skyping on Christmas Day. But it doesn't make it any better.

A big hug to you NavyMomXXXY. I'm sure the house is quiet without them. I don't think that's ever something you get used to. There is nothing to forgive, and your mood is what it is...missing your kids. God bless and try to have peace in your heart this Thanksgiving.

My son is finally home after not seeing him since August, also. I am so enjoying him, but still a little sad knowing he will have to leave....I'm just trying to concentrate on appreciating the time we have. Blessings to all you NAVY MOMS out there who get to be with your kids, and to those who cannot, a special prayer.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I have not seen my son since August! Needless to say, I am REALLY looking forward to seeing him. I know it will get easier, but wow, what a long haul.

I think the irregularity of the NROTC programs between schools is the program's down fall. I mean comparing the laxness of the program Brady is in to the rigor of other programs that we have friends in honestly concerns me. Because Brady is prior enlisted and is very grounded I'm not as concerned for him I feel he has a good grasp on what is needed to be done. I guess i just think a little more consistency would be good for the program overall.

Hey Congrats to Sabrina & Cheryl! All that hard work paid off. That is awesome!

I had to ask my son about his - in my experience boys don't share as much information. I didn't realize this, but because he is Marine option, his is on a different schedule. He had a CFT (combat fitness test) this week, and then he'll have the PRT next week. He passed the CFT just fine. They have been working them very hard, running alot, etc.

My mid gets the book stipend deposited to his ckg account, just like the monthly stipend. The tuition is paid directly to the school.
