Hanksmom, that is great that Hank is running and working out! Running three miles every day is awesome. My son will be a freshman at Tulane, and has been running and working out, but not nearly as much. Like you we are excited and nervous. We are in Indiana and about 14 hours from Tulane. It will be difficult (on me) to be have him so far. I look forward to hear how O-week goes.

hanksmom, NMXXXY's son is correct...since the Marines are part of NROTC you can change to Marine option. Several of my son's active duty were marines and had tried to talk him into changing from Navy to Marine option. I guess they know what you can do. :) Good luck.
NMXXXY - Hope you are having fun!

I had a pet tarantuala for years! I really want to get one for my classroom.

If I remember correctly, your daughter is on the west coast. I don't think we have tarantulas at Camp Lejeune. I know that marine week on the east coast is like being a recruit in the marines.....obstacles courses, putting you in gas chamber and you have to put mask on, etc. I'm sure there's lots of yelling. :) They watch them like hawks, though, to be sure no one gets hurt.

NavyMomBarb,
I remember my son talking about those things. He really enjoyed it. Wait 'til she gets to Marine week! :)

NavyMomxxxy, Brady is pretty good at what he does. I'm honestly surprised he finds and makes time for us. But he has definitely put the time and energy into his career. I'm always so proud of him.

NurseNavyMom, thanks for the well wishes! yikes tomorrow B starts traveling from the east coast to our home town! I hope he drive carefully my living room set and WINE RACK is in that trailer! hahaha.

CherylwithaC, STA-21 is an enlisted to Commissioned program. Its has some strict guidelines( time in, age, rank) and horrific paper work process. Then if they get selected in the program they have 3 years to complete a degree, and they are part of the NROTC unit when they are at university.

Navymomxxxy, Brady was definately blessed to picked up on his first round and with a pilot slot to boot.

July already! B just got done with STA-21 and we finally found a nice town house in AZ. Woo Hoo. I can not wait til this move is done. B has several classmates from STA-21 who will be joining him at NROTC at UofA. What an adventure we are about to embark on.
