My understanding is that the scholarships have been offered already for the 2010-2011 school year. The last review board is completed. I think that a recruiter would definitely help to get things moving. There is more involved than just the online application.

Although this might be a little scarey, she could go to the university's housing department and see if they have a list of students who need an apartment/housing. Also, if there are other ROTC units they might know someone. My son's roommate is AFROTC who needed a place to stay at the last minute. Good luck!

SusanW - We kept our son busy by having a major job to do at home for which we paid him, eg., putting in a sidewalk/path in our backyard. Also, landscapers often need help doing "grunt" work during the summer. Our son helped some with that too. Good luck and enjoy him while you can. My son just went back to school a few minutes ago and will commission on Saturday. He will be leaving for Hawaii in 4-6 weeks. I miss him already.

Cheryl......I agree with brownmlb ......you cannot take responsibility for this. Your daughter has to find the motivation to succeed at it. You are doing a huge favor for her to put all this together. Hopefully, the personal trainer that you found is good and motivating.......that could make all the difference in the world. It would be nice if she could find some enjoyment in the exercising. I remember my son saying, after cruise last year, "You know, Mom, some of these guys actually like to exercise!" :) He's not one of them particularly. Good luck with all this and all the best to your daughter.

Cheryl - good luck this summer! Don't be too hard on yourself, it sounds like you have an excellent plan. She is very fortunate to have such a supportive Mom! I would love to hear how it works out. So, please keep us up to date.

Count down is for him (he's STA-21), I'm just tagging along for the ride. We'll be moving to Tucson, AZ in July (that is unless i find a full time teaching job in my home town). We've been long distance the past year so we're looking forward to living in the same town. Best friends since junior high.

I also asked him if it was harder to see them in the water he said it depends on what the natural color of the water is and the amount of sun and clouds but that sometimes he thinks it could make it harder for rescues.
