Well, one of our kids graduated from Cornell. Have you tried the John Thomas Steakhouse. May be worth a call, at least.

It is bittersweet to watch our "babies" mature ---- they are merely a gift to us for a brief amount of time. You should both be very proud of your kids, their focus and their commitment.

hanksmom--I agree--but here I'll make you feel better. Not only do we have my NROTC son's graduation and Commissioning which are one week apart in New York State (We live in Missouri.), but his identical twin brother also graduates from college in Ohio the morning after the Commissioning. We have a logistical nightmare. And I'm sure both of them want to participate in all the festivities and will be moving out of their college housing. My husband and I need clones!

Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and are ready for 2014!

Does anyone know how the scores run --- for example, what is the average score on the ASTB? What is the lowest one can get and still be considered for a spot. I need some perspective.

I love to hear the process for others -- thanks so much for sharing your son's story. I know I will relay to my son.

Merry Christmas,

Jill

Jake would love to fly. It is hard to decipher the process. Although I do know it can be the hardest to get. We were just talking about it yesterday. Flying is definitely his first choice but he is really looking forward to any direction with the Navy.

Alaska Mom-  I too see the same thing with my daughter :)  When we saw her when she returned from her 7 month deployment it's really just amazing.  The amount of responsibility she has at her young age- but she LOVES it and is just excelling.  I'm so happy for her.  Many of her friends seem to be years behind her.  Actually I find myself constantly telling her younger brothers that in no way am I comparing them to her.  I know they are all different. :)   She has just found her path right now.

Voluntold-  classic.  Just step up and do it because they are going to tell you to do it anyway.  Happened all the time in my daughters unit too :)

ViperGirl & StacyM ... at our MIDN's Unit they call that being "voluntold"  lol
