My fiance should be graduating by this Friday then he awaits for his "hard copy" orders. Based on what he's seeing around base, he's thinking he should be out of there by 2nd week of May. I am very excited that i can't hardly wait but I have learned to be patient eversince Boot camp! I did see him PIR 4/2 for 8 hours... such a tease that was! But I am really looking forward to him coming home because his parents hasn't seen him since he left for BC in Feb! His dad started dialysis treatments while he was in BC so they weren't able to travel to his PIR. I know they miss him just as much as I do!

Yes, he will be home next Sunday after visiting family in AL (close to his base) first. When will your fiance come home? I know you can't wait! Have you seen him since he has been in school? Haven't seen my son since PIR on Feb 5th. So longer this time then from boot camp-PIR. It will be nice! Good luck to you both also!

You are sooo right diannep! Thanks, I sure hope so too and i will pass on to him the same message you told your son about friendship :) Well you get to see your Sailor soon... How exciting! Enjoy your time. So happy for you!!!

Kae: My son said the same thing! It is wonderul that they made such great friendships (and hopefully will stay in touch) but sad that they are separating. But as I told my son, new friendships await at their duty stations (some of his friends will be at his). I'm starting to understand now why those who have been out of the military for a long time still talk so fondly of those days and the friendships. There is such a special bond there. My son said he has never met friends like the ones he has in the Navy. The friendships are just different....and wonderful. Here's hoping that both of our guys make wonderful new friends at their duty stations!

My fiance` told me yesterday a lot of his friends are leaving today and he was sad. Poor thing! but he is thankful for Facebook! How I wish they would just all be put in the same duty stations!

sschick: Better not to list last names on here. Maybe just put his first name and and that he is your fiance's friend. SH orders may be different from YN as far as timing. Mine thinks he will be out on Tues or Wed next week...got them this past Fri. Maybe quicker if the orders are issued early in the week rather than on Friday? Just don't know. So glad he made lots of friends in bc and A School...same with mine. He said the best friends of his life. That is so great. Teamwork in the military is a great thing!

yeah i was reading that on here. Ugh - it has been nerve-wracking. He is an SH and he said that theres are coming in pretty quick - we shall see. I wonder when they get the written orders, do they have a certain time line to"get out" so to speak. I am planning on driving down to pick him up; but have to take off from work if it is the middle of the week. Its about 8.5 hour drive so plan to leave in the wee hours of the morning I suppose then may just rest a little bit and head back. He said he can't help out with the driving on the way back; something about changing his Drivers License when he reports to duty station. He has made a lot of good friends both in bootcamp and A school. One of them is planning on coming to the wedding. Are we supposed to list last names on here? Was going to see if maybe this guys mom or gf is on here?
