sschick: There was a 2 week wait for my son from verbals to wrriten orders being received. Don't know if that is the average. And maybe just a YN thing. I hope that all works out with your wedding! Congrats!

My fiance got his verbal orders last Monday and has some medical thing tomorrow; waiting on the written orders. He graduated the 23rd. I am just waiting to get the word. Then taking off to go pick him up - 8.5 hour drive. Looks like the May 8th wedding might just work out afterall .

YEAH, nancynavymom! They are all so ready to get out of there! My son said there is a big inspection on Tuesday...in dress uniform...taking some kind of piks. He is not sure he will be there for that or not. They are told the day before when they are actually leaving the base, so he says. I say...I'll see him when I see him! No expectations at this point! The Navy knows! That's all I need to know!

nancynavymom: I don't know about the AZ's, but the YN orders seem to be coming about 3 weeks after finishing school (two weeks after graduation).

He has his written orders....YAH! Will be off the base by Tues or Wed next week, make a stop in AL to see hubby's family, brother will meet him up there for some "play" time, and he/brother will be home on May 2nd. By then, he will have about 10 days of leave left, but that's enough!
