Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I haven't spoken to my son in a couple of days now, not since he arrived in Meridian on Feb 7th. He doesn't have his cell yet (uses phone cards) but I wouldl like to send it to him. Just wondering if each of you got the address from your sailor.

Comment by nancynavymom on February 10, 2010 at 10:42am: Karen, they flew my son from to Atlanta and then on in to Meridian, he said it was the smallest airport he has ever seen! LOL And Mary Ann, I think it depends on what they are schooling for, my son said he will be there the whole 60 days while others will finish way before him, hope that helps! Have a good day!

Does your son know you sent him the cel?There is an office that gets all the correspondence and packages (as I learned)they make a list of sailors that have mail,they are supose to check on the list.The office is close on weekends.
