While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Jamie on January 12, 2014 at 6:33am: Hey everyone, I'm new here. I was hoping someone can give me some kind of advice/guidance about visiting during a-school. My mom passed away recently and I'm going to have to miss my SR's graduation on the 24th. Seriously a difficult situation for me since I really would like to see/be with him during these tough times. I was planning to visit him in Mississippi instead, but I'm not exactly clear on how things work in a-school. I've been reading a lot of things and have been discouraged because everything just seems so complicated and uncertain. If someone could give me a little hope that I can see my sailor soon after a-school has started, I'd really appreciate it.

Comment by adm402 on December 17, 2013 at 10:00pm: Does anyone know of anyone that lives close to Meridian NAS that can rescue a Marine from base on the 23rd and get him to the Airport? I am getting my son from Meridian on the 20th and going back on the 22 to rescue two Marines and I do not think I can make a 3rd trip so close to Christmas. I am all the way in South AL close to PNAS.
