My sailor PIR and had 8 hours of liberty and was back on base by 7pm, and was packed and at the airport by 12:30 am the following morning. We met him at O'Hare at 3:00 am and went through security check so we could spend the next 7 1/2 hrs with him before his flight to Houston, then Meridian. 14 sailors were with him. The USO is awesome at O Hare!

When your PR flew out from basic, when did they fly out and from which airport?

My sailor said they just find stuff to do and of course they went to the movies. He was there in April until end of May and the weather kept changing! They have storms there then it's really hot and humid! I had to send him a jacket! Lol!

My son was graduated from Meridian about a month ago, he is also YN! The sailors went to Lazer Tag which was in the woods! To the mall! Out to eat! Oh and to New Orleans for a weekend!

So all you moms who have had SR's in Meridian for a while,  when they get liberty on the weekends,  what do they usually do for fun?  How is the town itself outside of the base?
