Hi everyone, quick question! My bfs been in Meridian for almost a month, I'm heading down to visit him mid January. He told me on the phone today that only someone related to him (his sisters coming) can take him out for the weekend. Then he told me whatever car we drive on base to get him with has to be registered to her, or rented in her name. Can anyone clarify this? It just makes no sense to me, we were planning on driving my car down, it wouldn't work if she was driving my car when she got him?
Thanks!!
Yes, Maria there will be someone to tell them where to go and what to do. Lots of liberty in Meridian, but they also have rules and regs still in place. In-doc will take care of most everything. Since this is a holiday, he may have a few days just to get setteled in and aclimate. My son arrived on a holiday weekend and was thrilled to have a few days to sleep and get setteled in. They will take good care of him
My son left for Meridian today and his flight got delayed once he landed in Atlanta. His flight was originally supposed to leave Atlanta at 9:00 pm and is now delayed till 12:30am. He tried calling to let someone know that his flight got delayed and no one answered. Once he gets to the base, is there someone who will guide him as to where he needs to go??
phones can be given to your sailor at the airport. He can definitely have it upon arrival in Meridian. He can also have a couple of civilian outfits. After the "shell shock" of basic it takes awhile for them to adjust to the priviliges they have at "A"school
nicksMom- all I know available is cab - my son did not get reimbursed for that ride, but he did share the cab/van with 3 others and that helped defer the high cost
