While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by navyboy2012 on November 6, 2012 at 7:32pm: Hello Nise615! My son is in Meridian and graduated last wednesday. He leaves tomorrow to go to Groton for sub school. Green dot is phase 3 liberty, my son said he should get it after a week of being there. Phases tend to go pretty fast and is nothing like boot camp. They have a lot of freedom in A school. You should be able to visit right away but if you wait till he is in phase 3 he can go off base. Also in phase 3 they can stay overnight off base only on the weekends but he will need to get a chit and turn it in before thursday according to my son. Hope this info helps you!
