Hey ladies.
I was just wondering if there was any wives who are currently or soon to be stationed with their husbands in San Diego. My husband and I move out there the beginning of June. This is his first duty station and we are really excited, its going to be a change since we are from Tennessee originally. We also have a little girl who will be 3 in July. I was just seeing if anyone could give me a heads up on what to expect, or anyone going through the same move, or just like to get together when we get there?

Hello,
I just saw your post. I am living in San Diego with my husband. I have been here with him for a little over 2 years now and I remember how much of a change the move was for me. I moved here from Washington and my husband came from A school in Florida. He has been here a year longer than I have but so far we both love it. It took me the better part of a year to learn to love San Diego. Feel free to ask me any questions or if you just want to chat I am always here.
Hey guys!
I am trying to find some ladies I can talk to and that can maybe help fill me in a little about the navy wife life! My fiance and I are getting married this August, then he is getting deployed for 8 months but when he returns I plan to move to San Diego from Rochester, NY. I've only been out to visit him once so I don't know much about SD and I am also kind of clueless about the navy life. Are there any things I need to know about before we get married, are there papers we need to get signed or anything like that? I'm trying to research as much as I can but everyone and every website says something different! Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated! I am also looking to make some new friends so when I move I'm not alone!!! Email me back if you are interested.
Thanks ladies!!
Hi there! I live in San Diego right now with my husband. I moved here last September. I'm from the East too, so prepare for a HUGE adjustment. The main thing is make sure you get power of attorney before he deploys..you need that to file taxes while he's away and pretty much anything else. Let me know any questions you have :)
Hey! Thanks so much for replying :) So just so I have things straight so far. After we get married, I have to get my last name changed and HE needs to change his page 2 in order to do DEERS and get my military ID and all his pay situated right? And what do I need a POA for? And I know this sounds so stupid but where do I find one of those? ha, Do I get one here or in San Diego? Is there anything I need to know? I want to be able to get everything done that I need to right after the wedding and especially before he gets deployed, I am really not being money hungry but if he is going to get paid more I want to know what we need to do in order to make that happen. That money can be saved up while he is away. If you can help me with any of this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much!!!
Hello!! So I am moving to SD next summer. I am trying to find out where the good places are to live and the places to kind of stay away from. My husband wants to stay semi near the base. We are looking for an apartment/townhouse. If you have any suggestions or places you know of that we can look into, that would be such a great help! Thank you. Hope to be hearing from you soon :0)
Hey so my husband is going to be going out to San Diego in February and hopefully I'll be able to move out there during the summer. I am still in college and I want to continue going to the one I am at so we need to find a place to live for about three months this summer if that's possible. Any suggestions? Also, we just got married and if anyone has any help on all the paper work and stuff that needs to be done that'd be awesome
