Hubs is on hold in San Diego...Anyone else in the area? We've lived here about 4 months, but haven't had much luck making friends.

Hi, I'm new to the group. My sailor daughter will be reporting to her ship in San Diego early August. Any information or communication is welcome.

phoebe...Was your son in San Diego before he went to Japan? I think I read that he has been gone for 3 years. That is a long time. Has it been 3 years since you have seen him?

My daughter is having a hard time right now. I did not expect her to react the way she is.

Hello! My son will arrive in San Diego by the end of February. No ship at this point as it has not been commissioned yet. So glad he will be back in the states!

Anyone with a sailor on the USS RUSSELL ddg59? My son loves Cali!
Comment by Mom from St Pete on December 19, 2014 at 6:00pm

Asked my son which ship he will be going on and he said Cape St. George. Anyone else have a son or daughter assigned to this ship?  Do not know anything about ships except toured one in Hawaii which was retired years ago. It seemed like very tight courters and lots of very steep stairs and stepping up going from room to room.
