Hey Gina!
Feel free to message me anytime, I live here in Coronado and hopefully I can be of some help to you! My first advice is try other areas other than Coronado...the area of Imperial Beach is very close by and a lot less expensive than Nado....if you want any tips, we are actually looking at buying in that area so feel free to message me. Another thing is, maybe you can try Fleet and Family services, I know where the one on 32nd st base is, but I'm not sure where the one on NASNI is, but I'm sure could find it with some poking around....also what command is he with? You could also get in contact with the command's ombundsman as well, she might have some useful tips for your particular situation. Gosh if I think of any other potential avenues to pursue I will let you know, these are the ones that first came to mind.....Oh also you could see if the USO has any relief services? That one I am really not sure of, but its worth a call, at least! I hope something presents itself for you, and like I said, don't hesitate to message me and I can try and help any way I can!
My Rescue Swimmer son who is done with SERE and now waiting to class up for FRAC is looking for a car in San Diego....anyone looking to seel who might be getting deployed?
Haha I will do my best! Too bad you couldn't have been here last weekend, it was beautiful!
Just one more thing, TropikalParadize, could you please make the rain go away for Friday? Thanks! :-)
Those sound like great plans, Chopsmom! Hope you guys have a wonderful time here!
Hi - thinking of where to stay in San Diego when my son goes out for his first deployment. Have a reservation at the Hilton on Mission Bay Drive - good/bad/close/far?
Thanks!
Hey everyone ! I am new to all of this and My husband is stationed in San Diego on the USS Ronald Reagan :) I will be moving out there soon with our newborn son I am looking to connect with other wives out there ! :)
Thanks for the info! Can't wait :-)
Oh gosh there's so much to do out here! Well first there's the beaches: Coronado has some of my favorite beaches, and its also a great place to visit, see the Hotel del, shop around town; Ocean Beach is an awesome area, with great restaurants (Hodad's, South Beach, PIzza Port to name a few!) and shops, and a great beach; Pacific Beach and Mission are just north of OB, Mission has a boardwalk-type area with a roller coaster and numerous shops, and PB has a nice pier (OB has a pier too); La Jolla is a great area, with La Jolla Shores being the main beach and then there's La Jolla Cove which is just as pretty, and Children's Pool is another beach where you can see seals hauled out. The La Jolla area is full of restaurants and shops as well! And then there's always Sea World, San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park (the park in itself has several museums and beautiful gardens), and Birch Aquarium in La Jolla. Downtown Gaslamp District is also fun to visit, great nightlife and also nice restaurants during the day....Hillcrest is a fun, funky area that is very open and diverse....Seaport Village is close to downtown that's a great little shopping area on the waterfront....and there's of course the two main malls in Mission Valley - the Misson Valley mall and the Fashion Valley mall. Point Loma is also a great area, and at the very end is the Cabrillo Nat'nl Monument with outstanding views of the entire city! Whew....just let me know or shoot me a message if anyone wants any more details about anything!! There's lots more too, but that's a good start!!
