Hey Does anybody know about the Howard Gilmore Terrance Community. We received an offer for a three story, two bedroom and I was wondering if anybody knows where I can find pictures (other than the website)

If you can get in, I would do it!! When we moved here we tried to stay there, but ended up getting into 32nd street Lodge instead (it was nice too).  It seems to be always booked up, its right on Breakers Beach, beautiful location.  They just remodeled too....I would go for it!!

I don't know about the Navy Lodge itself, I heard it was nice but haven't stayed there myself, but North Island is a nice base. It's small and right on the beach. Coronado is a great touristy area! The traffic here is a little much if you aren't used to it, but the weather more than makes up for that! :)

Is the North Island Navy Lodge a good place to stay? Any other tips about San Diego? Thanks!

Hi Joy....My son is out to sea on deployment..should be returning back to SD the end of May. Thanks for responding~~Shannon

My plans seem to be on the back burner...just stuck here. Looking for work in Cali from here is beyond challenging!

Greetings to all of you!...My son has been based in SD for almost 2 years..On his 2nd deployment now. I am at a crossroads in life here in South Florida and want to move to Southern California. I am ready to pack up and drive alone with just what fits in my car and put the rest into storage. There is really nothing keeping me here. I am looking for gainful employment and of course a place to live.  I do not want to waste anymore finds on my high rent, I would rather put that into gas money and my move to SD or surrounding area. My son is all I have, It has always just been the two of us for 19 of his 20 yrs.  no family or friends here.  I am hoping for advice and leads, friendship etc...I would be leaving Delray Beach, FL the end of April....Scared, yet excited! Thank you ~ Shannon~ I would leave my email address, but not sure if that is allowed

Oh I would say depending on traffic about 15 to 20 minutes, getting on the 8, going from there to the 5, then the Coronado exit, over the bridge and then straight off the bridge you are pretty much there....but it goes pretty quick, I live in Coronado but work in La Jolla so I drive up and down the 5 every day, not too bad....good luck and have a great time!

Hey there -

Yes there are some bad places next to the 32nd st base, but the North Island base is on Coronado, and is one of the nicest areas in SD!  There are a few places to stay here in Coronado, they are really safe and really nice, but I'm sure they are really pricey too...I would suggest staying somewhere in SD, and then just driving to NASNI....the Hotel Circle area has tons of hotels, is in Mission Valley, and is right next to the two big malls of the area, tons of food places, and is right off the 8, so its easy to get anywhere from there...I just googled "hotel circle SD" and a bunch of them came up...good luck!!
