Was wondering if this group is still active? Hoping to find a Christian family for my San Antonio sailor to share Christmas with since he won't be able to come home for Christmas. He didn't get to come home for Thanksgiving either and really don't want him to spend two holidays alone. Thanks for any info! Blessings

I'm just wondering, how was A school at San Antonio?  As bad as boot camp or better?  My son has been there since 9/27.  Thanks.

My son has PIR on 10/18 and will be headed to SA for MA A school? Does anyone know if they get time off for Thanksgiving?

Please share with any San Antonio connections you might have: The United States Army Institute for Surgical Research is currently treating a 22 y/o active duty IED blast/burn patient from Afghanistan. Because of the extensive burns and trauma injuries, he must receive B NEGATIVE blood. This blood type only makes up about 2% of the population, so it's critical that we locate potential blood donors and ask them to donate.

For each trip to surgery he will require 10-15 units of blood/blood products (40 - 50 units per week.) The Akeroyd Blood Donor Center, JBSA-Fort Sam Houston is asking all service members, family members, DOD civilians, or retirees with B NEGATIVE blood type to please contact the BDC at (210) 295-4655 or Mark Salcedo via email at mark.t.salcedo.civ@mail.mil

The center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am - noon for walk-ins.

Daisy 72... There are several nice places to stay on Hwy 151. That is close to the base.  There are several on Hwy 410, I think on Cinema Place is a Holiday Inn.
