Yeah, the last time I saw the wards they looked WAY different from when I worked there...I saw that they had been remodeled and everything! So much nicer now than before....

OMG my son is sweating from playing Wii Resort! lol! He gets so into it!

Lol, you guys are too funny.

Dianna, that's pretty neat. I wouldn't mind having my baby here either, except that I know everyone now. Haha! How wierd would that be? But at least I'd know myself and baby would be in good hands. :]
3 East is the same still. lol :]

Yup I told him what it's made of and he doesn't care! He said it is sooooo good! lol. I am from San Diego originally...met my husband here...though I was actually living in Long Beach at the time going to school in Orange County...he's from Tulare, CA in the central valley (the only filipinos up in that area are because of Lemoore which is the base we were stationed at when we got married). Mostly Portuguese, Dutch and Mexican up where he is from...he's part Portuguese...

Yeah, seriously! He is seriously the first person I've ever met who didn't like filipino food. And of course I married him, haha. I'm surprised your husband eats dinuguan cuz that's where most people will draw the line. He does know what it's made from, right? :p

I'm from Cali, born and raised in SoCal, though I only moved to San Diego for college then ended up staying when I met my husband. Hubby is from Florida, so yeah, they don't have too many filipinos out that way.

OMG really??? Wow! Yeah most people love filipino food! My husband even eats diniguan! LOL Yeah I was going to make longanisa tonight but I think we will have Tocino instead...Are you from Cali? Or where did you guys move from before here?

oooohhhh i def need to learn how to make lumpia. Believe it or not, my hubby does NOT like filipino food. I didn't even know that was possible! He'll eat lumpia though. I haven't tried making longanisa for him yet, though. I have some in the freezer so maybe I'll try making that next. And I def want to make some Sinigang again, LOVE that stuff! I'll make it with shrimp cuz we both love shrimp. I'm hoping I can smack some sense into hubby and make him realize how awesome pino food is

LOL yeah I am...everyone picks on my husband because they say he gets certain things because of the mafia! lol...I'm like seriously? I barely look like I am because I'm not as dark as my cousins...filipino food is easy to cook! I am trying to teach my sister right now because her boyfriend loves filipino food too! In fact tonight I was going to roll lumpia...that's how I lure my friends to my home parties (like saturday I am having a jewelry party so I lure them with the promise of lumpia and pancit!) :) Evil I know...My husband loves longanisa...that's easy to cook! lol...and sinagang...my sister's boyfriend LOVES that one...especially with shrimp and I make it more spicy!
Comment by NimNimsWife on June 9, 2010 at 3:14pm
Dianna, you're filipina? Me too! lol I always joke with hubby that he gets in with all his filipino higher ups because he married me, and he says that it's probably true, haha. Maybe you can teach me to cook some filipino food cuz my parents never taught me :(

Hmmm...I can't place her...but maybe while I was there she was just coming in every so often? I remember when 3 North was still under construction! 3 East was where the high risk patients went and 3 West was post partum. I totally want to have my baby there since I was born there and worked there. When I worked there I looked up the records that were in the storage room and found the book that had my mom's entry in it from when she had me...it was really cool...

Mmmm...I want some leche flan! That is my son's fave! He calls it grandma cake because my grandma makes it for him. Reminds me, I need to pick up some pan de sal though!

Barb is the really big lady that's kinda negative but a knowledgable nurse! :]

Haha, I know what you mean, my uncle married into a fil family, so that's where I learned about all the food and what not. I need to go check out Titas down the way. They always bring in those sweet fried banana things, YUM!!
