Any one have a clue about a good daycare center for her baby girl since there is a waiting list on the base child care center? She has worked in a day care center for the last 2 years but also has some medical training and was hoping to get into one of the hospitals.

princess: that area is a nice area, there's a lot of military housing out that way. As for the job market out here, it's as bad as any other place right now. I guess it depends on what line of work your daughter is in. But it's pretty tough to find a job anywhere in California right now.

Hi, My name is Barbara and my son-in-law, daughter and their 11 months old baby girl are on their way to San Diego right now. He was in A School in Pensacola and we live out side of New Orleans, LA. My daughter and granddaughter have been with me since the baby was born and them leaving yesterday was so hard. I have never been to San Deigo nor they so I am sure they will have alot to get use to. Any one have a spouse or son on the USS Bonhomme Richard? My son in law's duty station is on this ship. My daughter and granddaughter have never been away so it is going to be very interesting. We were not sure where to look for housing since there is a waiting list for on-base housing but they found an apartment in a complex called Avion at Spectrum which is about 15 minutes from the base on 32nd Street. It would be great if anyone could give me information about the area of the apartment and what the job market looks like since my daughter will be seeking employment again. Thanks for this site. My son was in the Navy for almost 10 years and just got out so I know the support is always needed. God Bless all of you and your families.

Welcome to our newest members tintin, DeeDee, and Nikki! So glad you all are a part of this group! TinTin, what part of San Diego are you guys in? Nikki, my hubby and I actually live like 2 minutes from Miramar and we have some friends that live on Miramar too.

Sorry I haven't been too active here lately. I've been swamped with working on my business. But I'm always here if any of you have questions or anything! Hope your week is off to a great start!

Hello I'm Dianna and I'm new to this group. We just got stationed here but I'm originally from San Diego. We just came from an overseas tour in Japan.

Anyways just wanted to drop in and say hi.
