OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Funny part was my sailor son and younger son would not get out of the car... I had walked across the street to get the picture. Actually I took two and the young man was very polite when he stopped me and asked me to delete the pictures.... My sons laughed and laughed... wait till I tell them I am not the only mom in the world that wanted that picture!

Wow... I can't believe you got this picture! I took one and had a guy chasing me with his gun out at the ready... He made me delete the picture and I did not even have the gate.... just the sign that read Great Lakes.
Please be careful posting pictures! Due to security the navy is very careful as to what they will allow to be photographed. It is all for the security of our sons and daughters.
