Here is one of the best paper storage ideas! Get yourself one of the sets of wire cube organizers... They sell them at Target. Usually show them as organizing your garage or kids room. Each set clips together to make about six cubes.

Build one or two cubes and then zip tie the other pieces in as extra shelves. I use 12 x 12 paper and the shelves are big enough for that!

Sure helped me in being able to pull out the color paper that I wanted instead of having a huge stack that multiple pieces pulled out when I only wanted one! Now I get inspired by the paper I have to use not overwhelmed looking for what I want!

I also organized my stickers with a three ring notebook and gallon ziplock bags that I three holed punched. I can see what I have and flip through the book easily.

Think I will head to Big Lots after work today! Looking for that door mat!

Okay ladies...FINALLY I have completed my first two pages!!! I have a whole suitcase of photos that we packed out of my mother's house of my children so thought I would start with scrapbooking those...it is overwhelming!!! I should probably have hubby take a photo of me and my messes...paper, photos, cricut, scraps...everywhere!!! It has taken me all day to put adhesive on those photos!! And I have so mucn to learn from you - for my first pages, they are ...okay but do not have the polish that I have seen here. The first thing I need to learn is...PATIENCE!!! Second thing might be...storage solutions!!

Jill - if you are comfortable on EBay, the prices of CriCut are much better and they are brand new, still in the box. My sailor bought me the Navy album and pages for Christmas. They sell it at Michaels and many of the scrapbooking stores - it is a really nice book. I'm saving that one until I'm more comfortable with my scrapbookng skills!

I did go to Michael's yesterday and although the CriCut was not on sale, the cartridges were - 50% off. Which is about what you might pay for them on Ebay...without the bidding. They were sold out of the blades and cutting pads - she said they go thru those pretty quickly.

Great info Jackie, thanks - my daughter heads back to school tomorrow but wants to hit JoAnns for some fabric so I'll look at the cardstock paper while we are there. I read about the need for acid free but I had forgotten that - thanks for reminding me!

Sheila - you might want to post a note in your PIR group if you had one set up and see if anyone can share their photos. Our camera did not make it thru PIR but lots of moms offered to share.

That is a wonderful page Dawn!

Cindy - I may need to take that class with you and there seems to be plenty of stores offering them right now (great chance for them to sell MORE supplies) there are also some on line classes that you can check out.

Okay...I came here today to ask Cricut questions too!!! I got my Cricut and we played with it last night - fun!! Cool letters, I like the George cartridge! Neat lettering. I got the Paper Doll cartridge as well as I have GREAT plans to go back to all of our old photo albums and update into new books. My daughter was messing with me and told me she thought Cricut would be TOO complicated for me so perhaps she should...take it back to college with her! NOT!

But for those using the Cricut? I'd like to know what paper you would recommend as well. We were just playing with it last night and I have construction paper and that did not work well. I have some neon poster board and that did work well so I'd love to hear what you would recommend.

Also I hope this is not a silly question but she told me that I'm going to need to get more blades...when do I need to change blades - will I just know cause they are not cutting as well? Also the cutting pads, it comes with one but how long of a life does that have or can I use it forever??

Dawn - did you order yours from Ebay? You will need to get the tools for removing your letters from the cutting pad. I seen them on Ebay but did not order one as I thought it might come with the machine - they do not.

We'd welcome any suggestions for us new Cricut users.

Thanks Ladies - I will tell you that my son is already asking...is MY scrapbook done yet?!! Honestly it is still in the box it came in...I'm formulating a plan in my head...otherwise known as ...what type of adhesive should I be using?!!!

I used to put alot of energy into my photo albums...before it was referred to as...scrapbooking! But I love your creativity Lisa on the victorian dolls! TK...shhhhh...I did go to some of the scrapbook sites and they actually have free online classes!!! Shall I share the address with you?!!! I'm just chilling out the next few days, thinking I want to put Christmas behind me before I start making new messes!!!
