Hello :) My husband is an EO Seabee. We have been in the military 8 years.. the only place we have been stationed is Little Creek Amphibious base in VA Beach. we are looking at sea duty orders on FRIDAY! Where are some places we could get stationed? I am praying we can stay in VA...but I know we probably can't...I know you can go to Port Hueneme and Gulfport Ms. But I'm not sure where else?? how are the schools wherever you are stationed? We have 2 children 9 & 5. anyways, thanks in advance !

Hiya Evdrake18, Welcome to the Seabee life.

You can expect deployments, I'm not sure what the rotation for them is anymore since my hubby is on shore duty right now but one of the other Seabee wives can probably inform you of that. Fortunately Ive heard that they aren't sending people to the dangerous places anymore, but i don't know if that is definite or just hearsay. There is a 3-4 week field exercise to prepare them for deployment. It is a hard job to be a wife of an active duty service member, a lot of wives struggle because in many cases the Navy comes first. Active duty Seabees are stationed in 3 locations for sea duty, either Port Hueneme California, Gulfport Mississippi or Little Creek Virginia. Few more options for shore duty.

Pretty much Live everyday like he will deploy tomorrow. It's hard to think of what to expect i don't remember what it was like earlier in my Seabees career, hehe, if you have specific questions i can try and answer them. :-)
