Aww, thanks Helen, Everyday gets a little better. He called again for a few minutes earlier in the week,  Was not expecting that call at 8:15am.He didn't write to me he said he wrote his brother. Feel bad about that.

Thanks for checking. Hey how was the wedding?

How are you, CT?

I came on here just to check on you -- do you feel special? You should because you are. :)

I bet it is!

I've been looking for her here, but I don't think she joined.

The 7/1/11 graduation sounds like it will be extra-special.

I know he will do fine!

Even those who have lived away from home haven't had the bootcamp environment, so they are all in ... you know what I'm going to say ... the same boat.

thanks for the info Helen, seems a few things have change in just a few short years.  OMG. 23 days!!! When Ryan went in I received the form letter within 5 days. So I could write to him immediately. So that's what I was expecting.  Letters from home are so important and kyle has never ever been away from home before. When he was young he wouldn't even spend the night at his grandparents.  Just breaks my heart to know he hasn't been able to any words of encouragement from home.  I just hope he remembers everything I told him when things get tough there.

I noticed that the 800 and 900 division families seem to get their letters first, probably because the spec ops folks don't have to wait to know which division they will be in (they only have the one choice), and because I guess they fill the 900 division as soon as they can.

My form letter came about 10 days after my son got there. My first real letter and phone call came on the same day -- 23 days after he arrived.

Rats!!? yuck.  Nope, no letter yet. Starting to get frustrated though.  I see several others that arrived on the 5th are in div 933. If I remember that a band etc division.  At least two other are in my same boat..no pun intended.
