OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

RTC is being very particular about phrasing. They have corrected a number of people for using "Grad and Go" to mean leaving on Saturday. "Grad and Go" actually means staying at Great Lakes for A school. They "Grad" and then they "Go" back to move their belongings over to school. All others are *most* likely Saturday Departures, although some will fly out on Sunday. I'm hoping for Sunday, so I can spend Saturday with him as well, but I kinda doubt it. (Last time I talked to him, he didn't yet have his orders.)

I don't think they send anything out any more. They give you a password in the form letter for a gate pass for PIR. About 10 days before PIR, you are supposed to go online and download your pass.

Do they still send an info pack? (This question of course indicates that I haven't gotten anything, but I wasn't expecting anything either.)

His A school is in P'cola.
The RTC webpage says that all sailors flying out to A schools are Saturday departures (with a few exceptions). I am hoping for an exception. :)

3 1/2 weeks have gone by, and still no letter. The posative side is that my hubby got a 1 minute phone call (on 4/7) from him asking for us to send his bank card. LOL He said no one in ship 02, Div 927 had recived mail when he called. Hopefully that status has changed by now.

Oh my gosh Helen, 3.5 time flew by. You should get a letter from him saying if he's a grad N Go or not. If he is you get basically 0 time because the get their things and go to the airport. If not then you usually have the weekend. Do you know where his A school will be?
